Experience

Each position I've held has aided me in becoming a better engineer, peer, and leader. Currently, I am working at NASA Langley Research Center in the Structural Mechanics and Concepts Branch. My job entails high-level thinking and fast paced approaches to problem solving. NASA has also allowed me to continue my passion for education, offering a wide variety of volunteering opportunities for me to educate and inspire Peninsula youth. While working at NASA Langley I am also completing my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Upstate New York. Throughout my time as a student and engineer I have kept my passion for education active. For the last four years I have served as an education and program coordinator for my hometown YMCA. It is through this opportunity that I am able to engage with the youth in my community and watch many young minds grow and explore their futures. STEM education, especially for young women, is one of the most important things to me. There is a constant need for creative and groundbreaking scientists from diverse backgrounds. Inspiring a passion for learning and motivating success brings me so much joy, especially when I have the opportunity to watch a student grow. If given the opportunity to work with your child, I believe I could not only improve grades and focus attention to build better study and learning habits, but also inspire a passion for learning.

Hobbies

I hail from the Adirondack Mountains, so being outdoors is one of my favorite things. I love to kayak and hike with my dog, and would prefer to sit outside whenever I get the chance. I'm currently training for my first 5K! I also play tennis and cross country ski (in New York, there's never a snow shortage). My favorite thing to talk about is space! I love all things rockets, and could discuss aerospace all day! At school, I am involved in our on-campus radio station where I DJ and bring in live bands to perform. I've served as president of a few art and music clubs on campus, and very much enjoy attending concerts and performing with my band.
