Experience
I began preparing for a career in dentistry by pursuing a biology degree from Winston Salem State University in North Carolina, where I grew up. While working on my degree and volunteering, I realized that I would like to serve others - including students who are working to succeed in school. I have a strong drive to educate and create change in the world, and this drive has led me down the path I am on as a tutor. Science and math are my strengths, and I tutor students of all ages in pre-algebra, algebra 1-4, pre-calculus, high school and college biology, chemistry, elementary math, life sciences, and biochemistry. When I tutor, I work to identify with my students and be the support that they need to do well in the subject that is challenging them. I have been a Legacy Leader during orientation at my university, which gave me the ability to deal with difficult and unexpected situations. I use the skills that I developed through school and volunteering in addition to my positive attitude to help my students reach their potential. When I'm not studying or volunteering, my hobbies are weightlifting, cooking, movies, and crafting.
